Nicholas Hursthouse Education Grant
The Nicholas Hursthouse Education Grant is a one-off award made to young people who were resident in Flitwick for their secondary education and who are preparing for work either in Higher Education or other professional training. Applications are considered from students entering their second year of a university course and apprentices who can demonstrate similar progression in a formal apprenticeship.
The amount of the award is variable depending on the income of the charity and the number of applications in any given year. Each application is reviewed by the committee of trustees and awards are made at their discretion.

If your application is successful grants are paid in early/mid December.

How do I know if I qualify to apply for an award?
To apply you need to:
- Be able to show evidence that you have successfully completed your first year of university and have been accepted into and commenced your second year
- OR
- Be able to show evidence of progression in your apprenticeship, such as successful completion of units of college study and progression into further study and the name of your employer.
- You were resident in Flitwick during your secondary education.
- Have not previously received an Education Grant from Flitwick Combined Charities for another course of study.

- Remember to include some documentary evidence of progression through your course. We cannot consider applications that lack this evidence.
- When completed please send your Nicholas Hursthouse Education Grant application to the address given on the form.
